Fans undoubtedly recognize the longtime dubstep pioneer Rusko as an icon of the genre. As he popularized combos of dubstep and reggae, countless artists credit him for inspiration for their own sounds.
Hailing from Britain, he’s released his own take on bass music from the underground to the ultimate festival scene since the early 2010s. Rusko then added heavier sounds that ultimately paved the way for more aggressive sounds popular in bass music today.
As predominant as his earlier releases have been, Rusko shared a surprising side project in the realm of melodic techno. In a Tweet, he confirmed his project under the moniker Stongehange. While the album has yet to be released, it’s accessible through a private playlist and is free to download.
Take a listen to the project below:
Hinting at the possibility of additional secret albums, we can’t wait to hear what else the don has in the vault. If the extent of his versatility and influence weren’t already clear, this release is only supplemental proof. What other amalgamations of sound he comes up with is anyone’s guess, but we’re all hoping to hear soon.
