Pendulum teases return with new track ‘Nothing For Free’

Almost 10 years have passed since the original trinity members behind Pendulum, Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen, and Paul Harding, unveiled new music. That all changed this past week in Perth, Australia as Pendulum played their brand new, unreleased track Nothing For Free.

Perth is Pendulum’s hometown and a fitting place for them to debut their new music. Nothing For Free was first teased to the world a month ago via Rob Swire’s Instagram. Featuring a 30 second demo of the track he tagged Pendulum’s official account, stirring up hopes for their anticipated return.

Blending hard rock, electronic music and drum and bass is what gives Pendulum their distinctive sound. Their last studio album Immersion featured some of their all time hit singles like WatercolourWitchcraft, and The Island (Dawn).

While Pendulum’s activity has varied through out the years there is no doubting their influence on dance music. Members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen are also the masterminds behind Knife Party, producing iconic tracks like Bonfire and Internet Friends. Seattle’s own KJ Sawka double times as the drummer for both Pendulum and dubstep supergroup Destroid, in addition to running his Impossible Records label.

Debuting their new track Nothing For Free in their hometown of Perth adds fuel to the fire for Pendulum’s return. Currently Pendulum has a handful of appearances set for 2020, such as Rampage Festival in Belgium and Ultra Europe in Croatia. In the meantime we’re crossing our fingers for the release of their new track, and manifesting wishes for a new album to come.
