Whipped Cream — born Caroline Cecil — is a force to be reckoned with in EDM right now. She’s kicking ass and taking names, and now she has her sights set on Portland.
As part of her recently announced 2020 tour, the Vancouver, B.C. native is briefly stopping in Portland on March 12th before crossing into Alberta, Canada. The Whipped Cream 2020 tour is then circling back to California for Coachella before heading to the eastern states.
Given her reputation for dark, hard-hitting bass music and super hype performances, this Portland show is not one to miss! Tickets are on sale as of February 6th. Have a peek at the full roster below:
A steady rise to EDM fame
After dredging through some of the inherent sexism in the EDM scene, Whipped Cream has come out as one of the most sought after up-and-coming EDM acts. As one of the few female producers on stage these days, she knows first hand how hard it is to gain the respect she deserves. But time after time she has proven her resilience and hard work with a positive social media presence backed by some genre-defying tunes.
The original productions coming from the mind of Whipped Cream tend towards glitchy midtempo with elements of hip-hop and breakbeats. Some of her recent collaborations include a song with rapper Lil Xan, and a track with a DMNW favorite known as LICK. At the start of her rise in popularity, Porter Robinson gave her props for her song Luv over Twitter, calling it “really really special stuff.” This song is indeed an excellent showcase of her ability to mix-and-match so many different sounds into coherent jams.
There are no signs of Whipped Cream slowing down anytime soon. Over Twitter this week, she teased something big coming out in 2020. Maybe an EP, but most likely a full-length album. We can only hope!
i have been working so fucking hard on my project that will come out in 2020. i have given it all of me. you will see who i am and hear it in full. i am taking a huge risk with it
