Ever been to a dance music show in Montana? Then you probably have heard of Logjam. Logjam Presents promote many of the club and event spaces in the Montana area. They are trying to bring something new for all the dance music lovers in an area where dance music is on the rise.
We had the chance to chat with the owner and talent buyer of Logjam, Nick Checota, on the company and its ambition and goals. Check out the full interview below!
DMNW: What is Logjam Presents?
Nick: Logjam Presents is a locally owned and operated, Montana-based live entertainment company headquartered in Missoula, Montana.
Logjam is the exclusive promoter for Montana’s marquee venues: KettleHouse Amphitheater, The Wilma, Top Hat, Ogren Park at Allegiance Field, Rialto and the forthcoming ELM (slated to open in Spring 2020).
The Wilma & Top Hat both ranked amongst the top 100 clubs worldwide (#63 & #99 respectively) for ticket sales 2018 (Pollstar) and the KettleHouse Amphitheater came in at #45 of the Top 50 amphitheaters worldwide. With the addition of three new venues in 2019 (Ogren Park, Rialto & ELM) Logjam Presents is one of the leading independent promoters in the Pacific Northwest.

DMNW: What shows and festivals do you specialize in?
Nick: We specialize in all genres of live music with a focus on world-class production and a quintessential concert goer experience.
DMNW: What are some shows that are coming up that you would like to highlight?
Nick: 11/12: Snails @ the Wilma (details): This will be our third time promoting Snails and are stoked to once again host his epic holographic stage “The Shell 2.0” in his World Of Slime Tour.
11/13: Troyboi @ the Wilma (details): We’re very excited that Troyboi will be performing the night after Snails creating a perfect weekend to trek over to Missoula and experience the bass
DMNW: What makes Logjam Presents different from all the other production companies out there?
Nick: Our mission is to provide an exceptional live entertainment experience through best-in-class venues and production, world-class customer service and a community-centric approach to business.
World-class venues and production. A great live entertainment experience starts with state-of-the-art facilities and best-in-class sound and light technology. The three Logjam venues are either newly constructed or recently renovated with recent investments in the best production capabilities on the market. The Top Hat, Wilma, and KettleHouse Amphitheater are some of the finest venues in the Northwest, if not the Nation.
A holistic entertainment experience. While state-of-the-art facilities are a key component of live entertainment, they are just one piece of the experience. Customer-oriented event staff, great concession service, superior artist hospitality, and an engaging patron community are all essential elements to fulfilling our mission.
Independent Montana music scene. In an era where the live music industry is consolidating into a handful of massive, national mega-promoters, Logjam Presents remains a community-oriented, locally owned organization focused on delivering the most relevant music for Montana. Montana is our sole priority, not a routing stop to fill a date on a large, multi-city tour. We do not have third-party investors or shareholders that demand all of the profits. We invest our profits back into our venues and take pride in creating world-class community assets.
DMNW: How is the Montana music scene?
Nick: Since the redevelopment of the Top Hat in 2013, the historic Wilma Theater in 2015 and the introduction of the KettleHouse Amphitheater in 2017, Western Montana is experiencing a live entertainment boom like never before.
