“When was the last time you got ugly?”
Dada Life’s 10th-anniversary tour announcement asks just that. For those attending in the PNW, tour dates and the chance to experience the extraordinary world of Dada Land have been confirmed.
The Swedish duo will be bringing their blend of humor, absurdism, and a truly unique experience for Vancouver, BC on August 10 this year, immediately preceded by their Portland, Oregon appearance on August 9. For dedicated Dadaists a little to the east, there is a September 6th date announced for Calgary, AB as well. If there was any excuse to dress up as a banana, this is it!
Its been a while since Dada Life has visited the West Coast. However, they appeared at Contact 2013 in Vancouver to acclaim. Few groups have cultivated such a unique ethos and a little “world” around their live performance. Their official Resident Advisor bio sums up it up rather well as to what to expect, stating, “We are Dada Life. Destroy dance music and have fun. Don’t look back in the past. Always go forward. Don’t think too much. Always follow the money. Do the Dada. The result? Big tunes, no frills.”
The pair have also branched out into making applications for music production, such as their Sausage Fattener plugins for Ableton.
