Billboards Dance 100 came out this last week, and though some DJs may come as a surprise, there is probably a good chance at least one of your favorite DJs is on the list. The list is still new but has gained support quickly with just about a quarter of a million votes.
Billboard builds this list by a fan poll, “domestic and global charts statistics (streaming, track sales, album sales, and radio airplay) and touring data (show capacities, festival bookings, and residencies).” Billboard staff looked at last years accomplishments, as well as what they had done in the past.
The list included many genres, solo acts, and duos. So who made the list? The top 3 slots were, Marshmello, Calvin Harris, and The Chainsmokers. Marshmello moved from 4th to 1st from last year. He had many things he achieved this last year, a number of songs, collaborations, and an “exclusive two-year residency at new Las Vegas super-club KAOS for $60 million.”
Calvin Harris stayed in 2nd from the last year. He seems to be hanging out on the side lines recently, but his music is still making an impact no matter old it is. He also plays many Friday Nights at OMNIA Nightclub, as part of his exclusive contract with them that goes through 2020.
The Chainsmokers were still in the top 3, but no longer hold the top spot. It is no surprise they are still in the top looking at radio airplay, with a number of hits and collaborations.
Some others DJs include Zedd, DJ Snake, ODESZA, Bassnectar, Alan Walker, Alison Wonderland, Richie Hawtin, and 90 more. We appreciates Billboards Dance 100.
