The 61st GRAMMY Awards aired this last Sunday, and though someone thought they could ruin the fun by leaking the winners, the leak proved to be far from the truth. A tweet announcing the winners of the GRAMMYs went out days before they aired, it included:
Song of the Year: Shallow
Record of the Year: I Like It
Album of the Year: H.E.R,
Best Pop Solo: Beck (Colors)
Best Pop Duo: Zedd (The Middle).
Once the tweet went out, the Recording Academy had this to say,
“There is no legitimacy to this. Grammy Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the Grammy Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by Deloitte in sealed envelopes.”
And the Recording Academy was right. They didn’t have anything to worry about. Some of the real winners included,
Record of the Year: This is America
Album of the Year: Golden Hour
Song of the Year: This is America
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: Shallow
Best Dance Recording went to Electricity, and Best Dance/Electronic Album went to Woman Worldwide, by Justice.
For a full list of winners check out the GRAMMYs website. The tweet prior to the show just shows that people will do anything to cause a stir. Luckily it was just a list of guesses.
