With Boombox Cartel’s long-awaited show in Seattle being less than 2 weeks away, we are delighted to share the first documentary piece of the making of The Cell Tour with fans.
The first piece consists of a 2:19 minute video clip showing snippets of the filming process. In the beginning, it shows the name of one of the filming locations: the Sybil Brand Institute in Los Angeles County, California.
The Sybil Brand Institute was a correctional facility for female inmates. Completed in 1963, it has been abandoned for over ten years now after being damaged by the the devastating 1994 Northridge earthquake. The city of L.A. unlocked the former correctional facility location for the team to film the visuals for The Cell Tour.
The video takes us behind the scenes of the project, which took months of planning and 48 hours of shooting in total. Given that this is only the first piece, we are certain that Boombox Cartel has more in store for fans. It is dark. It is intense, and we are beyond hyped to witness the end result live.
The 10-stop tour will kick off in Portland before making its way to Seattle next Saturday, February 9th. Joining him that night will be in-demand DJ, and electronic producer, graves. One of dance music’s rising stars, graves is known for his hip-hop-influenced progressive house production style.
