Deadmau5 and Mr. Bill just released a trippy new music video for 10.8, their new collaborative single. They teamed up with Funilab, Felix Stief, and Sneakypops to take fans on a surreal VR adventure. The video was made with Quill, a VR painting software. In addition to packing it full of Easter eggs for the most dedicated mau5trap fans, the animation team took full advantage of Quill’s features to create a truly surreal and immersive experience.
In a press release Funi, the man behind Funilabs, said: “Deadmau5 and Mr. Bill’s tune was crazy enough to be the perfect soundtrack for this experiment. We rush from one section to the other only to realize, in the end, that all of those were just fiction, playing on screens while Bill and mau5 are half asleep in a messy room. Music makes you go anywhere, even if you’re in a pizza induced coma.”
The final project reads like a fun collaboration between an assortment of talented artists. It’s clear that deadmau5 and Mr. Bill had a ton of fun working on this project.
Check out the video below, and see just how many Easter eggs you can hunt down.
