Seattle Police arrested Foundation Nightclub’s owner on conspiracy charges Friday, in connection with an undercover operation from law enforcement in 2018.
According to the SPD Blotter, “detectives and agents uncovered evidence that the owner himself was supplying large amounts of cocaine and other drugs” to dealers, who “in-turn would provide them to club-goers.” DMNW has been able to confirm, via King County Ingress, that the owner in question is Ian Jurgensen. He was placed under arrest in connection to alleged violations of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act.
In March 2018 agents from the SPD and Homeland Security (HSI) began an undercover investigation inside the club. The club was chosen based on reports of drug trafficking, but the actions were also part of a larger city-wide investigation around “ongoing concerns about overdoses and sexual assaults.”
DMNW has been working since August (when the initial raid was carried out) to obtain detailed information from SPD about the Foundation case. The information we have received, via public records request, is incomplete and still being released to us in stages. What we have received does, in some cases, call into question aspects of the original blotter report. As such, we are unable to fully judge the veracity of the charges in today’s report.
As of today, 16 total people have been arrested for drugs, weapons, and conspiracy charges as part of this investigation. SPD says more charges are anticipated.
