[divider]GRiZ – Say It Loud[/divider]
Detroit-based artist GRiZ, also known as Grant Kwiecinski, released his funk-filled fourth album on March 31st, and we’ve had it on repeat ever since. Putting us in a booty-shaking, head-bobbing trance lead by sexy sax and funky beats, GRiZ delivers everything we would’ve asked for with Say It Loud. Featuring a solid stable of contributing artists like Talib Kweli, The Floozies, Orlando Napier, and more, GRiZ successfully showcases his undeniable versatility and creativity. You can download Say It Loud in full (along with the rest of GRiZ’s discography), for free via his official website.
If you’re hoping for a chance to get funky with the man himself, you’re in luck, as he’ll be performing at the Showbox SoDo on May 8th as he stops in Seattle on the ‘Say It Loud Tour’. Tickets are available, starting at the very affordable rate of $25 (before fees), and the 24-year-old will be bringing The Floozies and Muzzy Bearr with him. The tour will also be going through Eugene on May 7th, and Vancouver, BC on May 9th.
[divider]Madeon – Adventure[/divider]
Releasing one of the most highly anticipated albums in all of 2015 on March 30th, Madeon’s Adventure is another release that meets the high expectations set before it. The 20-year-old Frenchman, also known as Hugo Leclercq, stormed onto the dance music scene as a teenager in 2012 and hasn’t stopped blowing us away ever since. Madeon continues that trend with his debut album, which is full of past hits and new tunes. A steady combination of quality collabs and those enthralling musical journeys we’ve come to know and love, Madeon hits the spot with Adventure. You can purchase Adventure via iTunes here.
In order to catch some of Adventure‘s tunes from Madeon live, you’ll have to do some work. His next show in the Northwest, a stop at Seattle’s Foundation Nightclub on April 18th, is sold out, and has been for some time now. If you’re okay with travelling, he’ll be performing in Vancouver, BC on the 17th, and at Coachella 2015 this spring. Oh, Madeon was also a late-addition to the already stacked SASQUATCH! 2015 lineup as well.
