3. Music… REAL music
At first this may seem obvious, but look a little further and you’ll see what we mean. It seems like DJ’s are constantly being called out for having prerecorded sets, being called button pushers, or not being plugged in at all. The argument can be made that it only matters what happens in the studio, as they’ve perfected their songs from creation and are simply sharing them with us. But in all the big name EDM hype, we have to remember that before the days of digital, DJ’s were tearing up the decks on vinyl and even tape. It’s a special occasion to see real mixing on vinyl and even more to see a full live performance of original tracks. Bass Coast has no shortage of any of this and the spirit of true electronic music is flourishing there. Void of “Top 40” and nearly impossible to hear the same song twice, the weekend will certainly leave you saying “ID, ID??”

4. Beauty
As PNW residents we can honestly say that we’ve got a good thing going for us. The mountains, the rivers, the trees and the overwhelming amount of green. Nicola Valley is the perfect backdrop, where the three hand built stages are tucked amongst the trees. Slay Bay and Radio stages both carry on and build their unique look year after year. While the Main Stage is an ever overlying theme or pure artistic beauty each year. Best of all each stage is built from recycled or reused materials to keep the vibe of sustainability. Certainly not to be forgotten are the people of Bass Coast. Hard to not find beauty in a sea of smiling faces, Bass Coast screams beauty…and we love it.
