Putting on a ‘classic set’, which we would later find out means a mix full of psytrance, Israeli duo Infected Mushroom are always a must-see act. Northwest-regulars who’ve performed at Paradiso and FreakNight in the past, Infected Mushroom are giving us all a unique treat worth taking the time to enjoy. A classic set full of shadowy, fast-paced melodic madness is exactly what festivals like FreakNight are all about, so make sure you join us at Infected Mushroom’s set this weekend.

Acts that are new and different always inspire some interest, and Bad Royale has us more than a little interested. The quartet of mainly trance-oriented artists is turning heads over in the heavier side of dance music, the side with all of the bass. Somewhere between trap, moombahton, and electro, Bad Royale are doing what all great acts do: blurring the lines of what we call ‘genres’. Consistently releasing EPs throughout 2015 on labels like Mad Decent and Buygore, Bad Royale are the real deal, and we won’t be missing their Northwest debut for anything.
[divider]Dirtyphonics[/divider]
A trio of Northwest-favorites who never disappoint, Dirtyphonics returns to FreakNight after their performance at the fall festival in 2013. One of a few enticing drum & bass acts USC Events is bringing to the Tacoma Dome, Dirtyphonics combined-skills on the decks impresses even the snobbiest of dance music fans. The group is far from a one-genre act, though, with their tentacles firmly grasping onto bits of dubstep, electro, and more. They’ve consistently made their way to the Northwest throughout their careers, and we hope you’ll join us in showing them our appreciation, as we always do, at FreakNight this fall.
[divider]Photographer[/divider]
The Seattle trance family has a few acts to be excited about on the second night of FreakNight 2015, and we’d be lying if we didn’t admit Photographer topped our list. The Ukranian is a regular at major festivals around the globe, featuring at numerous stops of the ASOT and FSOE tours over the years. Certainly not afraid of 138, Photographer is the cream of the crop when it comes to uplifting trance, and we won’t be missing an opportunity for a treat like that at FreakNight 2015.
[divider]Don Diablo[/divider]
He’s already part of our weekly routine, so missing Don Diablo’s Northwest festival debut wouldn’t make any sense. The Hexagon Radio host is everything we love about nasty electro, and his rapid rise through the festival circuit in 2015 is no surprise to those who’ve been paying attention to the Dutchman’s steady release of tunes, mixes, and live-sets. He’s recently released a track with FreakNight 2015 headliner and compatriot Tiësto, and we’re hoping they find some time at FreakNight to try out some of that collaboration magic live on-stage.
