HAIM
LA’s Indie pop sensation HAIM were an absolute treat as the sun set behind the mainstage on Sunday evening. We’re fortunate we didn’t skip out on HAIM after having absolutely no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Our festival method is to simply “follow the sound that pleases the ears” when we don’t know where to go; thankfully, the Sasquatch crew knew precisely what they were doing when booking HAIM for the mainstage. Made up of three sisters Este, Alana and Danielle, these girls resurrect the best of classic rock and 80s pop with a fresh indie wave to smooth out the sound. Rocking all on their own on bass guitar and the drums, HAIM possess all the star qualities of a powerhouse trio. Their lyrics tell of real-life hardships of breakups, growing up and moving forward, but with such optimism and energy that is impossible to ignore. No wonder these girls have seen so much success recently, between landing the cover of NYLON Magazine, rocking out the SNL stage, and touring across the world to sold-out venues. If you need some warm summer tunes, look no further than HAIM, and celebrate these flourishing women who simply rock.
