[divider]4. SURPRISES AT PARADISO[/divider]
The duo was decidedly mum on what we’re in for from their performance this weekend at the Gorge, offering up only a small bit of tantalizing advice: “Expect the unexpected.” What we do know is that we’re in for the debut of something very special, in keeping with their recent foray into “experimenting with different tempos and genres besides the ones we are already known for.”
The first fruit of this new feeling is a track we just finished and will debut at Paradiso called New Ground. New Ground feels musically like a G&D track, for it has an emotional melody in spots but it also has an intricacy that was inspired by the deeper tech music that we are currently loving. Oh, and it’s 125 bpm which is almost the slowest track we have ever made tempo-wise.
There’s nothing we love more at Paradiso than getting to be the first to lay ears on brand new music, and Gabriel & Dresden’s set at the Digital Oasis clearly will be no exception. For more on the duo, be sure to catch Organized Nature Radio on Digitally Imported the first Monday of every month, and dig into their Soundcloud to get familiar with what’s sure to be a highlight of the weekend.
