[divider]2. FOR THE LOVE OF THE MUSIC[/divider]
Many artists concern themselves with the rapid growth of EDM globally, oftentimes having harsh words for newer fans just getting into the music. To put it simply, Audien is not one of those artists.
I’m not one of those producers that is offended or horrified by the commercialization of the genre. I love the growth – I love that our collective audience has expanded. I’ve noticed some producers hating on some of the more commercial or novelty tracks that are breaking through. Personally I don’t lose any sleep over that stuff … I’m here to just be me and make melodies.
That refreshing viewpoint feeds directly into his approach to producing, and in the end gives us “some amazing sing-alongs” that resonate with everyone, and in the end only serve to grow our scene further. Many artists seek to push boundaries just to be different, but Audien chooses to focus on simply making music he can be proud of at the end of the day, opining that “if I push boundaries it’s not for pushing boundaries’ sake, it’s probably because I found a new sound, or melody, or rhythm that just made me throw my hands up.” That passion translates directly to the live show.
