[divider]2. Evolving Past “Cannonball”[/divider]
As is the case with many artists who strike gold on one big song, the temptation is ride that wave for as it lasts, and then continue to make music that sounds like what made you famous in the first place. With Justin Prime, the goal is avoid that temptation completely.
People are familiar with my current sound from tracks like Cannonball and Thunderbolt, but now it’s time to go on.
The vision for the new sound seems simple enough, but is a decided move away from the thunderous big room drops that first shot Prime to instant fame. The next step is now to begin a move to “more melodic/vocal edm music with more live instruments,” with one such song ready to debut once all the red tape is cut. In the end, the aim is to evolve towards a sound that can be “something different,” a refreshing goal not often seen in the mainstream arena of dance music.
