If you think going to an event that spans multiple days, such as Paradiso or FreakNight, is difficult to keep your energy up for, try to imagine the challenge of a 24-hour rave. The 24 Hour Rave Experiment, a charity fundraiser for Birmingham Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, England, aims to put ravers to the test: the event challenges ravers to make it through 24 hours. If you make it that long (no sleeping and no leaving!), your ticket is reimbursed. If you don’t, the value of your ticket is donated to BCH.
Strict rules will be in place to ensure that the rules are followed. Attendees are required to show up before 12PM on September 20th; no one will be allowed to enter late. Tickets will be £24 (get it?). No acts have been announced, however the event states there will be music from a variety of genres: House, Techno, Drum & Bass, Trance, and Hardcore.
If you think the idea is extreme, consider these facts: 1) the Brits know how to party and 2) tickets are almost sold out, according to the ticket vendor’s website. We know the UK is a long ways away, but we think the idea of a 24-hour rave is really interesting. We wonder how long it will take before an event like that will pop up in the US.
