Surprised or not surprised? Ultra Music Festival 2021 in Miami will soon announces its cancellation. The festival is still hoping to lock down dates for 2022 and let the music resume.
According to report from Billboard, a “letter from Ultra attorney Sandy York to Miami city manager Arthur Noriega says that conditions created by the spread of COVID-19 that led city officials to cancel the festival in 2020 are still a threat to festival goers in 2021.”
An official announcement from the festival is still pending as Ultra continues to work on confirming its 2022 dates.
With the COVID-19 vaccines just starting its distribution, the idea of music festivals and large gathering is at the back of our minds. Even when festivals are allowed to resume, will attendees fill the arenas?
Our guess is that once music festivals are able to resume, festival throwers will still need to live stream the shows. A cheaper admissions fee for the virtual festival goers? The unknown is still upon us but with the start of 2021 and the amount of shows continue to be canceled, we are foreseeing a year that is very similar to 2020, at least for the music industry.
