Adventure Club and 150,000 Watts of PK Sound? Yes, Please!

Bass Academy was a bass head’s dream! Featuring the oh so powerful PK sound and rare b2b sets from some of the genre’s finest, the head banging and arm waving went from start to finish. Adventure Club, the headliner, played a set so dirty, we couldn’t believe it was them! When they dropped Bring Me The Horizon’s Can You Feel My Heart, our inner hardcore kid was dancing with joy!

Kicking It Old School With Paul Oakenfold

Bliss: The Awakening, held at the Wamu Theater in Seattle, was the first trance massive to grace the Pacific Northwest. And we surely hope it isn’t the last! Featuring all sub-genres of trance, each set told a different story- some darker than others. Unfortunately, Paul van Dyk, the original headliner, had to be replaced following his scary injury at A State of Trance 750: Utretch. How do you replace a legend? With another of course! Fellow trance pioneer Paul Oakenfold stepped in and delivered a classic Full on Fluoro set, playing trance at its purest. When he dropped Sandstorm, everyone went crazy! Fluoro in Seattle was quite the treat, a solid deviation from the progressive trance sets we hear at shows nowadays.

Bassnectar Saves His Best For Paradiso

From our review of Paradiso ’16: “Night one would come to a close with a headlining performance from Bassnectar. For those who have had the opportunity to see Lorin before, they can attest that his performances are that of a journey through bass music. Lorin gave us what we believe to be one of his best performances to date. Even as we write this, the hair on our arms sticks up reliving that night in our heads.”

The Summer of REZZ

Deadmau5’s young protégé Isabelle Rezazadeh, better known as REZZ, stole our hearts this year and it all started during the summer with her set at Paradiso. A month later, she exceeded our expectations at FVDED In The Park, delivering an intimate set which featured an effortless blend of techno and bass. Her after-party set at Celebrities Nightclub changed our lives, delivering a set that topped her ‘Diso and FVDED efforts (in our eyes). A few months later, we were re-united at Shambhala, #BP19YR and Foundation Nightclub. Looking back, it’s crazy to see how far she’s grown as an artist over such a short time! One of the bright young newcomers in electronic dance, we’re eager to see what bae has in store this year.
