2014 Sasquatch Survival Guide

Little Indian Girl

This is where the essentials come in. You may have an RV or want to pass out in your car, but why not live the ultimate festival camping experience complete with tent pitching, water-can showering, and a cold beer (or lemonade) from the cooler?

Folding table Very underrated. Great to play cards, gather people around to party, or set up a beer pong table! Costco sells some good ones that fold up pretty small.

Folding chairs After walking and dancing all day, you’re going to want to sit somewhere. Some of you are fine to sit on the ground, but for those of you who prefer a folding chair complete with a drink holder will think otherwise. One per person or things can become a vicious game of musical chairs.

Light source: lanterns, flashlights, etc. A big propane or battery powered lantern for the center of your camp works wonders. Flashlights and lanterns, at least one per person come in handy when trying to find that lost lighter on the ground.

Lighters Bring several. For you smokers and pyros. (Side note to smokers: Security will NOT let you bring opened packs of cigarettes on the music grounds. You will have to throw them away and buy a pack from inside for $15.00. Bring a SEALED pack with you and open when you pass security gates.)

Phone charger Make sure you have at least something – a car with the engine running, solar, backup battery, human-scale hamster wheel, whatever.

Paper towels and TP Yes – there is toilet paper in the honeybuckets, but unless you like wiping with tissue paper, you will want to bring your own TP for a confident wipe.

Entertainment Bring Cards, Frisbees, drinking games, lawn darts, etc. A great way to make friends!

First aid kit and medicine/prescriptions Painkillers, antihistamines, antacid, saline, etc. because you never know what you might run into.

Watering Can/Wet wipes/Dry shampoo A Garden watering can makes a great shower. Wet wipes and dry shampoo also make you appear less like a sasquatch on the third day – unless you enjoy rolling around in your own grease. (Not always a bad thing when partying.)

TOILETRIES

Deodorant Do everyone else a favor. Smells matter.

Toothbrush and toothpaste

Shampoo Use a watering can, or a bottle with holes in it, or buy dry shampoo. (We like dry shampoo the best!) Grease-ballin’ it is totally okay too.

CLOTHES

The temperature can be up to 100°F in the day and down to 40°F at night, so bring what you need for both. Also a rain jacket, capable shoes, and something warm to sleep in. Wear some bright colors if you are trying to stay visible in a group. A light coat that rolls up neatly in your bag is perfect for those colder nights.
