[divider]MAKO[/divider]
Another act who was recently in the Northwest, but deserve another viewing regardless of location, is Mako. The Los Angeles-based duo is made up of unlikely parts, with a Julliard School graduate combining forces with a veteran DJ, to create one of the most musically gifted acts to recently break-out in dance music. Their connection goes deeper still, as their fathers were roommates at Syracuse University in 1975. And, after connecting on a trip to EDC in 2011, the duo decided to create Mako.
Now, they make their valiant return, with huge-hit Children Of The Wild, a collaboration with Steve Angello, pushing their sails steadily into the mainstream dance music consciousness. The ceiling for their potential is higher than most acts making their name in EDM today, and we’re excited to see (and listen) to what they have coming for us at EDC, and beyond.
[divider]SKISM B2B LAXX[/divider]
Combining an up-and-coming act with one of the legends in the business, the Never Say Die B2B set featuring SKiSM and LAXX is every dubstep fan’s wildest dream. Fan’s of the British-based artists will have been following the work coming out of the new dubstep-centric sub-label of the famed Never Say Die, entitled Never Say Die: Black Label. Collecting some of the top young bass acts around, SKiSM is showing off one of the best in the Never Say Die stable. We’ve seen this before, right here in the Northwest, when SKiSM went B2B with Zomboy at Lucky 2013. They memorably blew out the speakers (multiple times), and still managed to put on one of the sets of the festival. There’s some great B2B action at EDC this summer, but we think that this bass-fueled beast of a set will top everything else the 2015 lineup has to offer.
[divider]GETTER[/divider]
An artist that we wish would make his way to a Northwest festival sometime (although, there’s been a handful of local club performances), Getter is another dream inclusion for bass-heads everywhere. The San Jose-native’s unique stylings of dubstep, trap, and overall bassy-goodness is what made his Shambhala 2014 set one of the best of the year. Talked about for months afterward, and listened to for even longer, Getter coupled his great set with a string of great releases that’s led him to where he is today. That is, performing at EDC – Las Vegas and releasing his latest EP via Skrillex’s OWSLA label on June 16th. A rising star in the realm of bass music who’s name will spread even further following his performance at EDC this summer, Getter is a don’t miss for all Northwest ravers.

[divider]ASTRONOMAR[/divider]
Now a veteran of the dance music scene, it seems like only yesterday Astronomar was dazzling with his incredible work-rate and consistently quality tunes. He’s since done nothing but gain more respect, admiration, and fans over the years, and we want to make sure you fit the Alaska-native into your EDC plans this summer. He’s no stranger to the Northwest, but we haven’t had a festival set from Main Course label owner and Mutant Club pioneer in a couple years, and this summer is the perfect time to quench that thirst. One of the ‘good guys’ in dance music who’s originality is what keeps the parts of dance music that we love from becoming the parts of EDM that we hate, support Astronomar at EDC – Las Vegas 2015, and check out his set. You won’t be disappointed.
