Will.i.am Learns Not To Be As Obvious in His Latest Attempt at Thievery

will.i.am - steals avicii track

You’d think at this point he’d learn. Will.i.am appears to have done it again, this time producing Britney Spears’ newest track, Now That I Found You. It starts out normally enough, with Britney’s vocals singing about stuff you’ve heard in every one of her songs since 2003. And then the song builds. And builds. And finally comes the familiar drop, from none other than Avicii’s world-famous Wake Me Up.

It’s much more subtle than will.I.am’s typical copy-paste efforts, but at the very least he’s borrowed the same key and progression and merely rearranged the notes a bit. The end result is something that’s too close to Wake Me Up to ignore for a notorious music thief. Tell us if you hear the similarity yourselves, but the evidence stacks up against him in a big way.
