Catching up with Trivecta about tour life and new music (Interview + Voyage Tour Giveaway)

Dubstep producer and DJ Trivecta is known for his melodic tunes and dubstep. He has created a name for himself in the dance music community with his hard work. He is currently on The Voyage Tour with Wooli right now, with many more tour stops left to go. From shows left in our northern friends in Montreal to our southern music lovers in Dallas.

We have listened to Trivecta for quite some time now and we are amazed by his live performances. It sets him apart from the other dance music artists in the scene. We had the chance to chat with Trivecta about tour life, and new music.

Check out the full interview below, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway:

What is it like touring with Wooli?

Trivecta: It’s great! We have been tasting buffalo wings and various hot sauces in different cities which is basically a dream come true.

What show has been your favorite so far and what show are you looking forward to?

Trivecta: LA was great because so many friends live there. You get to see so many people whenever you play in LA. Minneapolis is always a heart stealer though as well.

Do you enjoy touring more than staying home and producing? Or vice versa?

Trivecta: Both! Producing is my first love but it gets solitary and monotonous. Touring is much more exciting, but it gets tiring which makes me miss studio. Balance is key.

Many EDM artists are starting to blend. What makes Trivecta stand out from all the other artists?

Trivecta: From a live standpoint, there are only a few guitar players shredding their tunes in EDM, and I think I’m the only one shredding over funk as well as melodic bass. From a studio setting, I think I have a distinct blend of nostalgic organic sounds with an aggressive heaviness that I haven’t heard anywhere else. There are a few other guys blazing that path as well but we all have our own sonic signatures. 2020 will see my sound stand out even more, which I’m super stoked about.

You incorporate live music/guitar into your sets, will you be doing more of that for the rest of the tour?

Trivecta: You bet! I’m only going to be doing more.

Speaking of live music, who is one of your favorite live dance music performers at the moment?

Trivecta: Maybe Griz. I like how he has a distinct vibe with his songs and performances, and a strong way of incorporating his instrument, but he also veers off and does cool side things like pop-up downtempo sets and the like.

If you could only choose one song that you have made, to someone who has never heard of your music before, what track would you show them?

Trivecta: Depends who’s listening 😉

When are you coming back to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle)?

Trivecta: Maaan I can’t wait to get back to Seattle! One of my favorite places in the world to play. Hopefully soon.

Any new music fans can expect from Trivecta? And any last words?

Trivecta: Yeah! I’ve got two releases coming soon on Ophelia (Seven Lions’ new label) and a big collab with Excision and Wooli. After that, I’ve got plenty more in the pipeline. The end of 2019 into 2020 will be epic.
