The DMNW Guide To All of the Trance At FreakNight 2016

Tick, tock, tick. Tock. Do you hear that? Freaknight 2016 is officially less than a week away and the countdown, along with final costume preparations, has really begun! With a lineup that offers a little something for everyone including carnival rides, sideshows and more, USC Event’s 20th anniversary spooky spectacular is set to be one for the ages. While bass music is set to dominate next weekend, the trance lineup can’t be ignored: it just might be the best one in recent memory!

As fun as last last year’s freaky fest was, we had to wait until day two to get our trance fix. This year, the hot action will fall on day one, with the Midway of Mayhem stage starting off as the Freaknight trance destination, before transforming to a house music utopia on day two.

Seattle’s very own Sean & Xander will kick things off on Friday night at the Midway stage. Not familiar? For the unacquainted, their sound is on par with what you hear when you listen to artists on Markus Schulz’s Coldharbour label; a lot of dark, sensual vibes. This Emerald City duo possess releases on M.I.K.E. Push Studio, Black Hole Recordings, the aforementioned Coldharbour, and more.  In addition to those releases, they have their original tracks and remixes that are receiving support from names like Markus Schulz, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Ben Gold. We’re looking forward to seeing some local flavor light up a big stage!

Bringing the sounds of psy to the twisted big top are Freedom Fighters and the legendary duo of Fleming and Lawrence (John 00 Fleming and Christopher Lawrence). We don’t get many opportunities to dance to 140-150 BPM trance here in the Seattle area; trance family, you’re going to be in for quite a treat!
