Nguzunguzu – Mecha

L.A. production duo Nguzunguzu (pronounced: en-goo-zoo en-goo-zoo) have released a new track, “Mecha.”  This song can be found off of their upcoming EP, ‘Skycell’, which will be released on November 5th.  ‘Skycell’ marks the duo’s fifth EP release.

“Mecha” feels very similar to “Smoke Alarm,” a song off of the band’s 2012 EP, ‘Warm Pulse‘. While Nguzunguzu have been creating laid-back trap hooks of their own style, the overall trap genre has been blowing up in clubs all across the world.  Judging from “Mecha,” the duo doesn’t seem too interested in joining the more commercialized movement. Nevertheless, “Mecha” has that trap mega-hit “Harlem Shake” feel; seemingly like kids that grew up in the same neighborhood.  Both are enjoyable after repeatable listens, and both make the listener feel invincible.
