Ladies and gentleman, I believe it is now the time to admit that pop music MIGHT be making an agreeable comeback… As tough as that is for me to say (or really believe), the solo artistry of kick-butt vocalist Koko Laroo is out looking for a fight – and all our money is on her. Her latest release, “Slay,” is appropriately titled given the heavy-smashing, powerhouse pop production that puts all of Top 40 to shame, and that’s just the beginning; Koko’s voice is one tough act to follow. She’s leaps and bounds beyond most of today’s pop divas, with a fiercely sexy performance on every single track. This genre might not be your favorite – and let’s face it, even die-hard pop fans know the genre is currently a let-down – but you have to give credit where credit is rightfully due; And the credit for most prized possession in pop goes to the slaying of Koko Laroo. And we can only hope that the pop-lovers of the world will unite on something we ALL can agree on.
