Interviews

BANKS: Black Widow, Electronic Web

Her force is inevitable; One listen, and it’s over – She’s already won your soul. Her sound is infectious; Hypnotizing your mind, unable to control the sting settling in. You are stunned – feeling nothing but the wave of emotions she draws out from your inner-most being. And the feelings are raw, vulnerable, and real. This is music that grasps ahold, sinking its venomous grip into your skin, and never lets go. This is Banks.

Think you’re safe? Go ahead, listen. We DARE you.

Never aspiring to be a musician, LA-based Banks kept her strongest emotions close, and found a release through writing – and her talent was eventually found out. A close friend urged her to pursue music, and when she took the leap, she was an instant favorite. To help complement her decade’s worth of diary-style song writing, Banks helped shape her emotion-soaked sound with experimental producers including Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Lil Silva, Jamie Woon, and SOHN. Banks continues her US tour alongside The Weeknd, after collecting her jar of hearts from the rainy Emerald city earlier this week. You can catch her remaining tour dates here, or get your Banks fix below:

Now that you’re hooked, pick up her ‘London’ EP from iTunes, here.
