The Premier Genre-By-Genre Paradiso 2015 Artist Guide

Bingo Players

After the dance music community was shook by the unfortunate passing of Paul Bäumer, friend and fellow member of the Bingo Players Maarten Hoogstraten made the difficult decision to continue their dream, and play on under the Bingo Players moniker. The duo had built quite a resume’ of productions and performances, and Hoogstraten is honoring the Bingo Players name by continuing to add to their story. The Northwest was looking forward to Bingo Players first performance since Bäumer’s passing at FreakNight 2014, but their set was scheduled for the cancelled second night. Thankfully, Hoogstraten will be bringing the Bingo Players brand of energetic big room to Paradiso this summer, and we can’t wait.

BORGEOUS

One of the ‘Tsunami‘ of big room artists who boomed their way onto the dance music scene in 2013, BORGEOUS loves collaborating with artists and is the epitome of the big room sound. His tunes are festival-ready on first listen and his resume’ of hits includes TsunamiStampedeInvincibleCelebration, and more in his young career. A fun set full of energy, fist pumping, jumping, and fun, BORGEOUS will fit right in at Paradiso 2015.

Martin Garrix

A blanket of stars gently illuminates the night sky as all eyes are transfixed upon the brilliant magnitude of the mainstage. The lights are flashing, the music is blaring, and it’s easy to realize what many are becoming more aware of everyday: this kid is good. Really good. And 20,000 voices sing together “DON’T LOOK DOWWWWN”…

With a group of headliners as impressive as the six at Paradiso 2015, there’s bound to be some surprises. For a group that already includes the likes of Knife Party, Armin van Buuren, and Skrillex to also snag EDM wunderkind Martin Garrix is more than the cherry on top or the icing on the cake. Producing mega-hits with everything he touches and having every artist’s attention, Garrix is flourishing. His live-sets are now becoming more and more acclaimed, and there’s not a better place to stake your claim and show what you’re capable of than The Gorge.

He’ll have everyone’s attention, something he’s more than used to at this point. Considering his Northwest debut is coming as a headlining performance at Paradiso, there’ll be high expectations, and we’re ready to see how Garrix exceeds them this time. He’s used to joining his friends on stage, and we’re hoping Garrix (and the rest of the lineup, for that matter) finds time to enjoy The Gorge and the music as much as we will be.

Showtek

We’ve raged with Showtek several times in the Northwest over the years, and it’s about time the duo made their way over to The Gorge. They’ve twice been the closing act on the mainstage at Lucky, both in 2013 and 2014, fitting the role perfectly. The Dutch duo’s blend of big room is an instant energy boost and their ability to play to a crowd is among the best in the business. Formerly focusing on the harder styles, Showtek are one of several artists to shift toward the electro house realm and have been one of the more successful acts to do so. They’ve performed around the world, and if you want the set that’ll push even The Gorge to it’s biggest size, don’t miss Showtek.

TJR

TJR, also known as TJ Rozdilsky, is a Connecticut-native who’s bounced his way to the hearts of millions around the world. Although his major success has come in recent years, TJR has been around for more than a minute, producing tunes and remixes since 2008. Whether it’s producing a multi-platinum hit with pop superstars like Pitbull or stealing the show at major festivals, TJR is is on fire. Thankfully, he’s returning to the American Northwest after he was scheduled to play on the cancelled second night of FreakNight 2014. As of now, his two most recent visits to our region came in Vancouver, BC. His numerous hits are only out-shined by his number of memorable performances, and we can’t wait to add another to the list at Paradiso this summer.

Henry Fong

Florida-native Henry Fong will be making his fifth visit to the Northwest in the last 18 months when he performs at Pardiso 2015. Fong has made stops in Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver relatively recently, showcasing his unique blend of electro, progressive, and big room house. With a special touch for live performances and a resume’ that includes releases on OWSLA, Spinnin’, Revealed, Mad Decent, Musical Freedom, and more, Fong is the real deal. The Gorge is able to bring out the best in some, and we’re betting on Henry Fong to put on another memorable Northwest performance.
