NGHTMRE & Truth Warn: It’s a Trap!

Everyone is passionate about a cause, and that includes our favorite DJs. Many DJs show their commitment to causes through Electric Family bracelets or through other charitable avenues. NGHTMRE has decided to show his support for the anti smoking organization Truth by creating a track for them to feature in their “It’s a Trap” campaign.

Back in November, NGHTMRE called upon his fans to tell him the most ridiculous smoking excuses they had ever heard. Months later we have his track “It’s a Trap” with many of those excuses included. NGHTMRE has had multiple family members pass away due to lung cancer, so he’s very much on board with encouraging young people not to smoke.

Teen smoking is down from 23% in the year 2000 to just 7%. We’re not sure what’s working, but something is. Most recently Truth has been using Trap music and memes in its campaigns in an effort to be more relatable to teens. Whether it will have an effect or not has yet to be seen, we need more time to pass in order to see that.

We think it’s nice to see an artist who teens like and respect taking a stance on such an important issue. We can only hope that the “It’s a Trap” angle helps Truth and NGHTMRE to reach their target audience.
