Monks of Mellonwah Revamp Australian Rock

Australia is undoubtedly one of the hottest music hubs on the planet – and it goes far beyond dance music. Experimental acts like Willow Beats and Flume may already be on your radar, but Australian rock quartet Monks Of Mellonwah are revitalizing the alternative rock scene with an experimental Sydney twist. Similar in their style to Incubus and Muse, Monks Of Mellonwah have a rich, full-blown progressive sound with a powerhouse vocalist lead; all the essentials for the best in alternative rock.

Meet the Monks: John (bass guitars), Joe (guitars), Josh (drums) and Vikram (vocals/guitars).

In 2012, the band won “Best Indie Rock Band” at the AIM Awards, as well as LA Music Awards’ “Best International Act.” Delivering their newest EP Turn The People in three seperate installments, the first two have already received international praise and support for their tracks Afraid To Die and Ghost Stories. Signed to A&R which proudly represents Coldplay, Muse and Adele, expect to see Monks Of Mellonwah touring across all of Australia – and the US – throughout the next year. While we await the third and final installment of Turn The People next month, you can catch up on all that you’ve missed from the Monks Of Mellonwah up to this point. If it feels like you’ve just hit the alternative rock jackpot, it’s because you have!

Monks Of Mellonwah’s Turn The People is set to be released on March 7th on Bandcamp.
