So Smooth It’s Criminal – Modus Unveils Techno-Drenched ‘Operandi Radio’

We first discovered Modus for ourselves last summer, and immediately we felt the sense of hitting a gold mine. From his premiere release of Dream Together, a deep-sea dive into uncharted house territory, to his darker, tech-house sets from EDC Las Vegas and New York last year, it’s no wonder why we crowned Modus last December as one of our top 14 Artists To Listen For In 2014.

Did he deliver? Even more-so than we ever could have predicted. Now, to finish off the year with a bang, Modus is set to introduce the West Coast and beyond to some real, rugged techno and tech house via Operandi Radio, a worldly underground blend inspired by his abroad travels to Barcelona – the trip that lit the initial spark to his love for a deeper dose of dance music.

“I started this podcast to give techno and tech house more exposure in LA as well as the rest of the US.. I fell in love with this darker side of electronic music while living in Barcelona, and for some reason, techno and tech house just really stuck with me.” -MODUS

In 2014 alone, Modus held no restraints to his creativity, taking on some major heavyweight challenges in his remixing ventures. Aiming at tracks both in and out of the dance music realm, Modus hit the mark remixing hip-hop originals from both Jay-Z and Drake, completely hypnotized Zhu’s hit Faded, and even gave a fresh rendition to Pryda’s classic tune, Shadows.

Expect the same unbounded creativity and selection in his Operandi Radio mixes, including some names that just might be new favorites to add to your deepest and darkest music collection. With a rich blend this luscious, it may feel slightly sinful – but don’t hesitate; this is a dark side meant for exploring.
