Marshmello and Bastille break record with ‘Happier’

Marshmello is no stranger to the Billboard Charts, especially when it comes to holding the number 1 spot.  Marshmellos collaboration with Bastille, The Middle has held the number 1 spot for 37 consecutive weeks, which is the longest running dance and electronic song on the chart. The Middle reached number one back in September 2018. He also holds 2nd with, Here With Me featuring CHVRCHES.

A number of collaborations held that top spot previously, The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey held the top spot for 33 weeks, and Closer by The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey held the top spot for 27 weeks.

The Middle has been making more news than just breaking records. Marshmello and Bastille were recently sued by Arty (Artem Stoliarov) because of the similarities between Happier and a remix that Arty did of OneRepublic’s I Lived. This is awesome for Marshmello and Bastille, but we do wonder how Arty feels about this accomplishment. Now it’s just seeing how long it stays at number one.
