When the duo known as Louis The Child released Too Close on August 8 we played it once and then didn’t think much about it. It’s not like we thought the single was bad, but we were surprised about how different it was from their discography.
Then on August 14, Madeon interviewed Louis The Child on Good Faith Radio where they extensively talked about Too Close. Afterward, we were hearing Too Close with a new pair of ears. The most important details from the interview were learning about the production process of Too Close. Madeon brought up the point that he had heard an earlier version. Which led to the conversation that the song has been edited from point A-Z. Madeon marks it as the main point that they were able to keep the initial enthusiasm from the song and create a stronger final product.
Too Close is different, but fantastic. The beat isn’t meant to be a loud explosion, it is meant to be a high energy and relaxing ride. If you dig into the lyrics found on YouTube you will find a strong love story between two people.
