KJ Sawka Talks Touring, New Music, and Life-Balance (Exclusive Interview)

Where do you see Impossible Records going in the future?

KJ: We are set for becoming a major player in overall electronic music styles and an innovator in new music business models.

Destroid has made a huge impact in the bass community, do you guys have any upcoming projects in the pipeline?

KJ: Yes, but no release dates as of yet.

How do you enjoy working with Excision and Downlink?

KJ: They are super fun and like brothers. It’s always a great time doing life with them and working on music.

Does being so busy ever effect your life outside of music?

KJ: Yeah, it’s like 99% of my life. But I love it and wouldn’t change it for anything.

What advice would you give to those struggling to balance both aspects of their lives?

KJ: Just live everyday like it’s your last.

Is there anything you’d like to say directly to your fans or anything you’d like them to know?

KJ: This year is a massive year for my KJ Sawka solo brand. After 5 years of working hard for my other bands, I am back to produce the best KJ Sawka music, live performances and loop ‘n’ sample packs I have ever done.

NOTE: I know many of you were hoping (or maybe expecting) news concerning the Pendulum return. And I tried to get some answers for you guys, but you’ll just have to in suspense a little longer. Official news will be coming soon, we’re all just playing the waiting game now.

Alright KJ, can you tell me anything about Pendulum? The upcoming tour, or any new tracks in the works?

KJ: You’ll just have to wait until more Pendulum news comes out, then I’ll do another interview about it 🙂

Yes, I too was looking forward to Pendulum news. That said, some things are better when they’re surprises! Personally I hate surprises, but sometimes the wait is definitely worth it. 2017 is shaping up to be an exciting year for fans of KJ Sawka, Destroid, and Pendulum. From his new and upcoming solo album, to his tour with ill.gates and a Pendulum show in London, there’s sure to be something for everyone. As for the rest, I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see! If you get the chance to catch KJ and ill.gates at Foundation on February 15th!
