Kill the Noise collaborated with Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign and Madsonik to create the official theme song for Michael Bay’s latest explosion-tacular blockbuster Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The result: A new dubstep-rap track, Shell Shocked, making for a catchy hot mess.
The three-minute-long theme song with its semi-dubstep intro sounds more like a rap track. But who could be surprised with the long list of rap artists contributing to the making of the song. While its nice to see Kill the Noise branching out, we wish the song had a little more to offer.
Although the song has the same catchiness as Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ninja Rap (Go Ninja Go!),’ it lacks the funky, fun vibe we remember TMNT for having. But we wouldn’t really expect any different from Michael Bay considering his film track record. While the song has room for improvement, the TMNT theme song is available to purchase on iTunes as of July 22 for anyone who wants to take a walk down memory lane.
