Listen To Kaytranada’s Housey Remake Of Gorillaz’s “Strobelight”

Kaytranada is back once again with his take on the Gorillaz’s song Strobelite (feat. Peven Everett) off their latest album, Humanz.

Kaytranada released his magnificent debut album 99.9% in May of last year. Since then, he has made headlines by sporadically posting remixes of popular tracks and occasionally producing for other artists. His remake of Strobelite swaps the heavily electronic vibe of the original for a more swung, housey feel that falls just shy of funk. He brings the vocals down in the mix so the focus falls more on the beat, a tactic he also employed on his remix of Janet Jackson’s If.

Other fantastic remixes by the artist include his extended edit of Chance The Rapper’s All Night (feat. Knox Fortune) and his flip of NAO’s Get To Know You.
