jPhelpz, Getter, And Extrax Reportedly Robbed At New Jersey Show

Whether you are at a show as an attendee or a performer, it’s reasonable to expect that security will keep you safe. Details are still coming out, but we were saddened to learn that jPhelpz and Getter were reportedly robbed at a dubstep showcase over the weekend by contracted security at the Wild Bull in Paterson, NJ. Getter was reportedly robbed at gunpoint by the contracted security while jPhelpz’s wallet and phone were stolen while he was DJing. The real kicker? jPhelpz was left without his ID or access to any of his money, so it is unclear whether he could get on his flight out of New Jersey. A reward for $500 was posted on Twitter to whomever was able to successfully reunite jPhelpz with his wallet, but thus far there is no confirmation yet that the wallet and phone have been returned. It sounds like Twitter is the fastest way to get ahold of the guys, so if you or someone you know has any information that will help jPhelpz or Getter tweet at them.

From the original article posted on LXVXLS the security was not hired by either of the promotion companies putting on the event but rather the venue itself. However, they were hired to keep both performers and attendees safe, and whether they were the actual perpetrators or merely stood by and let it happen is unacceptable. In addition to the robberies of jPhelpz and Getter, up-and-comer Extrax had his laptop stolen that contained music he was working on including an upcoming EP. From the sounds of it he hadn’t yet had a chance to back anything up so if the laptop doesn’t return he will have to start over on his hard work.

We’ve been crawling Facebook and Twitter for more information, but so far very little has come out beyond what the DJ’s themselves have posted. We’ll provide further updates as we have them, but in the meantime if you happen to know anyone on the East Coast who may have been at the show please let them know what went down if they aren’t already aware. We may be a NW focused website, but the EDM community is a global one and it breaks our heart anytime we hear of a tragedy striking, whether it be a robbery like this or hearing of the passing of one of our EDM family members. Our thoughts are with jPhelpz, Getter, and Extrax, we hope your property makes it back to you safely and soon. Have more intel on how the events took place? Please let us know via Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below!
