Gorillaz Announce New Album Release Set for June 29th, ‘The Now Now’

Gorillaz recently announced that they’re releasing their new album The Now Now on June 29 through Parlophone and Warner Bros Records. This is a year after their release of Humanz, and it seems as though Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have plans to release at least one more album in addition to the upcoming release. How exciting is this!?

We’re not all that surprised about this. After all, last December Jamie Hewlett (the band’s comic book artist) shared that “usually we have a good five-year break between each album” but they ultimately decided to “keep going because there’s ideas for a few more albums.”

The last time we were this excited was when Gorillaz made an announcement about a North American tour. It was their first North American tour in seven years, with a stop in Seattle. Even better, this October the band is embarking on another North American tour. Sadly, Seattle isn’t one of the tour stops, however, they may make a stop here in the future.

If you are interested in seeing them live, tickets for the tour go on sale June 8 at 10 am PST. For more information about tour dates and stops, go to the Gorillaz website.

Check out the teaser for the album release below and let us know what you think.

Check out the post below to see a couple of songs from the forthcoming album. If you click on the twitter post and look in the comments, you’ll see that the Gorillaz released videos for the tracks Humility and Sorcererz.

Are you looking forward to the release of The Now Now? What is your favorite Gorillaz song? Let us know in the comments and as always, hope to see you on the dance floor!
