Welcome to: A State of Trance
The time had finally come for our headliner to appear. We briefly waited as the light went black and the crowd continued to chant. A single “A” appeared on screen with the rising of a synthesizer as Armin finally took stage and put everyone into a roar. This was the moment everyone had been waiting for, as we were prepared to be taken on a journey for the next 2 hours…yes 2 hours!
Amin stood atop the DJ table, in his signature pose asking, “Are you ready for a state of trance”?!. Certainly we were ready, as well as the rest of the attending fans. With uplifted arms, and the crowd on their feet Armin began the night with Embrace. A fitting choice for a night that had us all together for Valentines Day. It’s incredible to see how music can portray the mood, and tonight was one of love without a doubt.
About 30 minutes or so into his set AVB dropped Strong Ones and we finally caught our first glimpse of those sweet, sweet laser beams! Something about them just adds a little spice to the night and are always a crowd favorite. Worth mentioning, production kicked in an extra 2 units this year which we felt were a welcome addition. In combination with the timed video cues, confetti cannon and smoke guns, the stage was a step up from last years. After a 2 hour set that reminded us of his Paradiso performance from 2015, he ended the night with Another You. As we all sang along, Armin said goodbye as his set came to a close.
Despite this being the final set of Get Together the night was still young. In true Blueprint fashion the party continued with their official After Party featuring special mystery guests. We managed to gather our things quickly and catch the first cab across town to Celebrities. From there we had another performance from Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, followed by a B2B performance with Sander Van Doorn and finished off with Will Sparks.
