Welcome back to Elevation Radio! Boy are you in for a treat, this week we have the Bellingham local, Shadow Variable on the decks here to guide you through an hour of hip-hop influenced future bass! Shadow Variable has been DJing for roughly two years now, in that time he has shared the stage with several awesome artists such as Ill-Esha, Diamond Pistols & A Tribe Called Red and more! Shadow Variable’s roots are without a doubt in the realm of hip-hop, electronic music wasn’t really his thing until he discovered Deadmau5, which then exposed him to the wonderful world of electronic dance music. Since then, Shadow Variable has developed a true love & passion for bass music, future bass being the obvious favorite.
Throughout this 52 minute, booty-shakin’ mix, Shadow Variable seamlessly mixes various hip-hop classics with future bass bangers! While talking with Shadow Variable he told us “My favorite genre at the moment is Future Bass, but I’d consider myself an open format DJ.” This statement is so accurately portrayed throughout this mix, even though the future bass grooves contain the overall vibe of the mix, Shadow Variable didn’t hold back one bit when it came to exploring other genres.
