Electronic Dance Music is coming to the silver screen in 2015. Gaining popularity in the last two years, EDM is on the rise and still sparking an interest in young adults (and a few older adults) across the globe. You may have heard a few rumors about a new movie coming out that embodies the friendship, love, and music that comes with the dance music scene. “We Are Your Friends” will be released sometime early 2015 featuring some Hollywood acts – Zac Efron being the character. (Yay or nay?) directing the film is Max Joseph who is also the creator of MTV’s ‘Catfish.’
Max Joseph is apparently a big fan of the dance music scene and the culture that comes with it. The story follows an aspiring DJ named Cole (Efron) who befriends another DJ, but falls for his girlfriend. Pretty cliche storyline, but the major focus of the film is said to be the electronic music setting. Let’s hope so. The film is said to spotlight the mainstream that EDM has taken route to, so let’s hope this is one for watching. Check out the preview below and let us know what you think!
