TAKE-ME-BACK-8-1 paradiso 2016 guide

MUSIC! (Set times/Scheduling/Must See)

The main reason we get together every June is for the LOVE of music, and to dance of course. This year, USC has put together an incredible lineup to kick off summer. As to be expected, there are always some scheduling conflicts but hopefully we can help you out there. We also suggest catching the earlier sets, and don’t forget about our 2016 Paradiso locals!

Unlikely that you haven’t seen this…

The absolute easiest way to answer this question is downloading the Paradiso Festival app and building your schedule before hand. If that’s not an option, here’s a look at the schedule for the weekend.

[accordion-group title=”Set Conflicts? That Never Happens”]

In a perfect world, we’d be able to see all the sets we wanted to in their entirety and not have to sprint mid-set to catch the end of another. But thats usually the case when you’re presented with the lineup USC has put together for Paradiso. We’ve come across 7 potential conflicts for the weekend, but 3 of these conflicts seem to stick out the most.

Friday: Cookie Monsta b2b Funtcase vs. Dillon Francis

Friday offers a 30 minute lapse in start times between the Main Stage and Wreckage to the Digital Oasis, which allows some easier planning between most sets. However, there are still a few sets that could cause conflict, especially with the 11pm time slot. Both equally incredible and must see sets, however both presenting you with a tough choice. Dillon has been quoted recently as saying Paradiso is one of his favorite festivals, so we know it’s going to be a killer set. However, seeing OG dubstep producer Cookie Monsta going back-to-back with Funtcase is guaranteed to be a massive hour long bass barrage.

Saturay: & Rezz vs. Illenium & Ephwurd vs. Bro Safari

Saturday’s schedule seems to be a little more friendly with traveling between sets as there is a 30 minute lapse in start times with the Main Stage and Digital Oasis to the Wreckage. Clearly, this year’s lineup has no shortage of bass artists – which again shows to be the harder conflicts to deal with. Both 4:30pm slots are filled by equally amazing sets that will likely be some one of the best all weekends. We really suggest trying to catch both sets as we can’t suggest one over the other. Either way Illenium and Rezz will both be “Must See” sets for us.

Later in the day, and just before sunset, you’re looking to choose either Ephwurd or Bro Safari. Again, going to be a tough decision. While Bro Safari is no stranger to the PNW, Ephwurd will be making their first debut with us. Something to consider for those attending Shambhala is – Ephwurd will be gracing us later at the Village Stage so maybe catching Bro Safari wouldn’t be a bad choice.

[accordion-group title=”Who can I NOT Miss”]

We’re honestly beyond thrilled with this year’s lineup as it presents us with some of the best names in the scene. We’ve already put together a list of 10 Paradiso debuts we can’t wait for, but, there are certainly a few sets you should try to be there for. These suggestions go beyond the obvious such as Excision, Chainsmokers, or Bassnectar.

Caspa B2B Rusko – These guys have an extensive festival schedule this year, and if we learned anything from EDC Las Vegas, it’s don’t sleep on this set. The 2 producers have been making dubstep for over 10 years, and have recently joined forces again to bring us back to where they started.

Terravita  Also making their Gorge debut is Chris Barlow and Jon Spero or Terravita. While we’re a little sad to see they won’t be attending Shambhala this year, we were thrilled to see their names on this year’s Paradiso lineup. Judging by their recently released “Road to Paradiso” mix, their set is going to be a banger.

Thomas Jack – We’re definitely no stranger to this artist, but there is a reason his set should be one to catch. Hopping on shortly before sunset, Thomas Jack will certainly have all sorts feels running through your body. We do suggest catching RL Grime over at the main stage later on, but from 8:30-9pm it’s all about the tropical vibes, and saying goodbye to the sun.
