Brothers Franny and Bobby Govea founded The Best Dancers in 2010 after moving to Portland from the Chicago area. After sitting in with the brothers at a number of live shows, Mark Macomber of Basin & Range joined the group in 2015 and The Best Dancers now perform as a trio, with each member playing multiple instruments. Their live set includes saxophone, bass, and keyboards.
In addition to a number of singles released on SoundCloud, the group is anticipating a full-length album for early 2017.
The last few years have seen The Best Dancers sharing the stage with nationally touring acts including VibeSquaD, Break Science, SunSquabi, Mochipet, David Murphy of STS9, Jeremy Salken of Big Gigantic, Love & Light, Juno What?!, Up Until Now, and Schweez of Two Fresh.
