A trained pianist, drummer, guitarist and singer/songwriter, Sivz’s unbeatable musical background has been instrumental in her success in Vancouver’s nightlife scene. She is regularly found spinning across top venues while holding her residencies at the city’s prestigious underground club MIA and renowned after hours Gorgomish. In the past year she has shared the decks with high-profile international headliners including Claptone, Bakermat, Dusky, Chris Lorenzo, and Eats Everything to name a few.
The epitome of a house-head, Sivz is consumed by repetitive 4/4 beats, simple basslines, spoken word vocals, and evolved Chicago-house synths. But whether she’s dropping funky, soulful house or beat-driven tech house, she is one artist respected in the scene for nailing her sound. Sivz is most known for her G-House specialty, mixing the attitude of rap & hip-hop vocals with the jackin’ basslines of house to bring a twist to the house genre that makes the crowd feel an instant surge of swagger. She is also recognized for her ability to freestyle through the various sub-genres of house while programming a journey-like set flow.
With her strong musical foundation, Sivz naturally took the next step in exploring music production in 2016, remixing King Deco’s “Read My Lips” in collaboration with I Know Karate. The remix charted on Hypeddit’s Top 100 House Tracks at #38. Now heading into her 2017 season with many exciting festival and international bookings, Sivz is wrapping up a handful of originals to showcase to her new crowds.
She may have made it from the dance floor to the DJ booth, but Sivz has never stopped dancing. Both a beauty but moreso a beast on the decks, you’ll experience this natural entertainer’s undeniable passion for music first-hand when she hijacks the room with her contagious energy, even throwing on the occasional gas mask for shits & giggles.
