Dirty South Goes A Different Direction ‘With You’ (Exclusive Interview)

Dirty South has been a mainstay in the house music scene for the past 10 years. He currently has a residency at LiFE SLS in Las Vegas. Dragan Roganovic (Dirty South) has brought us so many great club hits like Phazing, How Soon Is Now, and Rift. Dragan has also worked with some of the biggest names in electronic music such as David Guetta, Alleso, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Michael Brun. After the release of his first movie With You (that he directed, wrote, and scored), his much anticipated new album by the same title released on the 4th of November.

The new album is definitely a different direction for this traditionally progressive and big room house producer. With You captures a more melodic and emotional side of Dirty South, with more subdued drum kits and easier bass lines. You wont hear those quintessential military drum pick ups and big drops. This is an album that you will connect with on an emotional level.

This makes it probably one of the most important albums of the year, especially given the new direction of the electronic music scene. Dragan also features a host of vocalists from previous works as well as some new ones. The ones that stand out aren’t from the electronic scene at all. With You features bands like Kids Without Instruments, Some Kinda Wonderful, and FMLYBND from the indie rock scene. This gives a new element to the Dragan’s music production and has created a beautiful and unique album. Dragan describes it as him “growing up” a bit and wanting to “try new sounds.”

Phillip was raised on so many different genres of music, it has given him a unique perspective into the ever evolving music scene. Trance music began defining his life at the young age of 14, but thoroughly enjoys any type of music equally. He sees the music as an escape from the daily doldrums of life and says music can change a persons life in an instant pulling from his own experiences. His only goal in life is to share wonderful music with people and take electronic music to a higher plain with more accountability and creating a safer environment for his friends.
