Center of Gravity Taking A Break For 2019

To the dismay of many a BC-based partier, Kelowna BC’s Center of Gravity has been canceled for 2019. In an official statement on Facebook the organizers disclosed the following:

“Since its inauguration in 2008, Center of Gravity has grown to become one of the largest sports and music festivals in Canada. This would not have made possible without the support of all of our fans, artists, athletes, vendors, and partners. We are truly grateful for the contribution that each of you provided in helping us create this amazing event. We are announcing today that Center of Gravity will not be returning in 2019.

Our goal is to return in 2020 with a fresh vision and the renewed support of all our fans. We look forward to seeing you all then”

Founded in 2008, the festival has featured such artists as Snoop Dogg, Zedd and Skrillex alongside live sports spectacles and a terrific beach party on the lakeshore. However the event has not been without its troubles.
In 2018 there was a tragic overdose incident and the event gained unfortunate reputation amongst the locals due to noise complaints and the belligerent behavior of a few of the attendees.
However, we hope to see CoG return in full force with a formidable lineup in 2020. After all, its not wrong to take a little time off to facilitate growth, and we’re sure that whatever the next Center of Gravity brings us will be stellar.
