Blueprint Events Delivers the Bass with “Way Home” Series

Kicking your weekend off a little earlier just got easier with Blueprint’s newest event series, Way Home. Launching officially this Thursday, October 13th, the biweekly event series is all about bass. Way Home aims to bring Vancouver the best in dubstep, future bass, experimental trap, and funk. Beyond the music, the event also hopes to build upon the cities already budding bass community. With Fortune Sound Club providing an inclusive community space for DJs, producers, dancers, and artists to share their work, we couldn’t be more excited about Thursday nights in Vancouver.

Way Home will be settling in at Fortune Sound Club in the heart of Vancouver’s China Town. The night will feature open decks from 9-11pm in their side room for local DJs to experiment and feel out their work, followed by a resident taking over at 11. Fortune’s in house Funktion 1 sound system will provide beyond excellent sound for the night dedicated to bass. Anyone who’s had the opportunity to experience Shambhala’s Grove stage will certainly agree.

Taking the inaugural privileges will be going to a man who’s certainly no stranger to kicking things to high gear on a Thursday, Space Jesus. Jasha Tull has been bringing the heat to the Ampitheatre on Day 1 of Shambhala for the last 2 years. With his combination of bass, hip hop, and other worldly beats, Way Home will certainly be in for a treat on night number 1. Not to be overlooked, however, is Yheti – another familiar name from this year’s Shambhala lineup. Yheti took us on a multidimensional bass journey earlier this August in The Grove. We’ll be looking forward to hearing him again on those wonderful Funktion 1 speakers. Rounding off the night and definitely not to be missed is S2, the Vancouver local you may recognize from Bass Coast and Shambhala this year.

If the official launch party doesn’t get you even a little excited, take a look at the other names coming to Way Home. With Must Die! getting an early start to Halloween weekend and Stylust Beats bringing us into November, Way Home is already showing promise. For the last 19 years, Blueprint Events has been providing Vancouver with some of the biggest and best shows the city has seen. Way Home is a way of giving back to the bass music scene by facilitating a place to express themselves.

Beyond the great names is bass music, we’re thrilled to see hopeful DJs being given opportunity to gain experience. We hope this model of community driven events catches on in other parts of the PNW, and congratulate Blueprint on bring Way Home to Vancouver.

Tickets for all Way Home events can be purchased from Fortune Sound Club’s website for just $15
