Avicii Admits He’s Mortal, Explains Health Woes

Avicii pondering
Avicii pondering whatever the hell he's doing next

We have had no shortage of artists that we love facing health issues this year and we were sad to see Avicii missing another big festival when he had to bow out of TomorrowWorld. Fortunately, the beloved Swedish cherub has spoken out about what’s been going on and assures us taking the time off was needed. He spoke to Billboard and let them know that it was due to complications from his gall bladder surgery that he needed to take more time to rest and heal.

“I’m going to try to slow it down. Taking a break was the absolute best thing I’ve done. I’m doing better and better.”

It turns out that like the rest of us, Avicii is a human and can’t just bounce right back from a surgery to a grueling tour schedule. For Avicii, his idea of taking it easy is only being in the studio, but when you’re spending 12 hours a day in there it’s still not much downtime. We’re happy that he’s finally taking the time he needed. Fortunately his manager agrees this is necessary saying, “We’ll hold everything off until Tim is completely back on track.” While we miss seeing him on stage, we’d rather enjoy what he has to send our way for years to come.

Lizzy has been raving since the wee age of 14 after being grounded for a month for having rave fliers in her bag. Like her other love, snowboarding, what was supposed to be "a phase" has become an essential part of her life and she is excited to see a new generation developing the same love.
