Founded as a humble music blog, Dance Music Northwest has grown into an award-winning nightlife media company with interests in publishing, events, business listings, software development, and business intelligence. Headquartered in Seattle, DMNW serves Vancouver, Portland, Boise, Spokane, and all areas between.
We connect our users with sharp editorials, new music, local shows, club and DJ listings, and business intelligence, and provide all the information you need to have a great night out. By giving users one-stop access to clubs, shows, tickets, guestlist, and VIP, we provide the nightlife industry a one-of-a-kind marketing and revenue channel.
Dance Music Northwest is also politically active, lobbying for common sense rave safety measures at the individual, festival, and city levels. Our focus on producing the best EDM journalism and supporting the entire industry was recognized in 2013 and 2014 with back-to-back Best of Western Washington “Best Music Blog” awards by King5 & Evening Magazine.
We never accept payment for editorial coverage, or for inclusion in any of our Soundcloud playlists. Our site is entirely financed through display advertising and Club Hub partnerships. You can be confident that anything we publish is chosen because it enhances the electronic music scene. Or because it’s dope music. We write about a lot of that too. Elevate Dance Music.

It started with a very simple idea: “The Northwest needs a site to support its local dance music scene.” What began as a casual conversation quickly turned into a rudimentary but passionate website. We’ve worked in the music industry for many years–let’s give that passion and knowledge back. Remove barriers for others. Focus on our gifted local Northwest DJs and producers, and the NW dance music fans that keep them alive.
Turns out, running an online magazine is an insane amount of work if you’re doing it right. The DMNW Team has expanded from 5 to 22 insanely dedicated members who are crazy about dancing and music. The quality of our product is a direct result of the passion of our Team, and we’ve got the most passionate Team in EDM journalism.
In 2016 we expanded our efforts and launched Club Hub, a service to help connect venues, fans, and artists. We are also currently lobbying the Seattle City Council to fundamentally change their approach to concert safety as it relates to drug use. We want make a difference. Join us.
